2nd POLY & ITE HANDBALL INVITATIONAL GAMES 2012

The journey is over for the RP girls. Played our last game on Saturday and sadly we lost, so bye bye 3rd place.

It's been an incredible journey with this team. I only came back after internship meaning in July and the way they accepted me in felt like i've never left the sport for 3 months during internship. I feel so proud of all 12 of us. We came from different backgrounds, some of us have been playing sports for years. But during the games, I can only see that all of us put in our very best effort. We scold each other during trainings, during games, but we all know that it's for the best for the team.

Didn't play my best in the last game. I know it because I got screamed at by coach more than at any other game, I didn't score as much (only 2) and because I feel so pressured, I couldn't calm down. 2nd half, 5 mins into the game, I attempted to take a shot but a wrong landing made me sprain my ankle. Laid on the court screaming in pain, coach and Gordon ran in and I felt safe. I knew I was in good hands even though I was in so much pain. Thank god for everyone that day really - coach, Gordon, Jeff, Val, Oscar, everyone who calmed me down and helped me after I got brought out of court. Went for debrief in the carpark and Jeff and Gordon literally lifted me even though I was only supported by them cos I had no idea what they were thinking LOL. I could sense that coach was very very proud of us girls despite our poor performance, she herself said she saw us play much better before. After all we gave her her first win coaching RP ;) Went home instead of having dinner with the fav people/halloween gang to wash up and have dinner before going to the hospital for an xray. GOOD NEWS: NO FRACTURE OR DISLOCATION. Was so happy when I heard the doctor said that cos 1. I didn't have to have my foot put in a cast. 2. A sprain heals faster but STILL HURTS LIKE HELL. 3. I could still play handball till I graduate.

This was when I reached home after the game. Swollen as hell.

After seeing TCM ystd cos I was in so much pain just going to the bathroom.

Thank you girls so much for the past few months. All the effort we put in at training paid off when we won our first game, I can never forget how happy I felt, how all of us felt. It wasn't an easy win, it was a tough fight but we managed to hold on to the lead till the final whistle. Thank you coach, for never giving up on us no matter how lousy we are, for being so proud of us even though we didn't win. Thank you RP boys, those that were always there to watch our games, to support us because we're a team, to give me advice on the sidelines to help me play better when I went in. Thank you Republic Handball.
